The Opportunity

Rightway Recruitment is representing an established mechanical contractor looking to add an experienced 3rd or 4th Year Plumbing Apprentice to its growing team.

This opportunity is ideal for an apprentice who has developed a strong foundation in commercial plumbing and mechanical systems and wants to continue progressing toward a service-focused career.

Initially, you will work alongside experienced Journeypersons, allowing the company to assess your technical ability, communication, and fit with the existing team. For the right individual, the goal is to progress into a more independent service position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside experienced Journeypersons on plumbing and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install piping and mechanical equipment
  • Cut, measure, join, thread, and work with copper, stainless steel, black iron, and various plastic piping systems
  • Cut, measure, and roll groove different schedules of piping
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and site conditions
  • Assist with servicing mechanical equipment and systems
  • Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and other trades
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment
Candidates should have a good working understanding of:
  • Domestic water systems within multi-storey buildings
  • Hydronic heating and cooling systems
  • Sanitary and storm systems
  • Process water systems
  • Commercial piping systems and installation methods
Experience servicing boilers, tankless water heaters, commercial PRVs, pumps, hydronic systems, control wiring, or hydronic controls would be a strong asset.

What You Bring
  • Currently registered as a 3rd or 4th Year Plumbing Apprentice
  • Commercial plumbing/mechanical experience
  • Previous service experience is strongly preferred
  • Comfortable reading blueprints and interpreting site conditions
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to continue learning
  • Personable with strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within an established team
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and professional when dealing with customers
  • Own basic hand tools; all power tools are supplied
  • Appropriate steel-toed boots and workwear
  • Reliable transportation to travel to job sites or meet Journeypersons at the office
  • Ability to provide 2–3 professional references
Compensation & Benefits
  • 3rd Year Apprentice: $32–$36/hour, depending on experience
  • 4th Year Apprentice: $38–$42/hour, depending on experience
