At Davie, electricians don’t just wire—they electrify the future of Canada’s naval industry. Put your expertise to work on exceptional projects. Reporting to the Foreman, you will be responsible for installing, connecting, and repairing electrical and electronic systems aboard ships. You will read and interpret plans, connect components, assemble connectors, install cable trays, perform electrical penetration sealing, and diagnose faults. You will also participate in equipment commissioning and provide the necessary technical support.

 

Compensation:

  • $34.64/hour for the first 1,000 hours, then a rate of $38.49/hour.
  • Overtime paid at double time.
  • Skill premiums up to $0.40/hour.

 

 

Work Schedule

  • Day: 4-day workweek, 10 hours per day
  • Evening: 4-day workweek, 10 hours per day + $2.00/hour premium
  • Weekend: 3-day workweek, 12 hours per day + $2.50/hour premium
  • Frigate premium (military vessel): $1.25/hour regardless of shift.

You must be available for all shifts. While we consider your schedule preferences (day, evening, weekend) when creating schedules, they cannot be guaranteed.

To welcome you to the region, we offer a relocation allowance for unionized production and maintenance employees: up to $2,500 for a single person or couple, and $4,000 for a family. Requirements

  • DEP in Construction Electricity, Maintenance Electricity, or Electromechanical Systems
  • DEC in Electrodynamics, Instrumentation and Control, or Industrial Electronics
  • Valid CCQ or non-construction CC card (1st year apprentice or journeyman electrician)
  • Successful completion of the security clearance process required under the Federal Government Contract Security Program (minimum 5 years of continuous residence in Canada with no interruption longer than 6 consecutive months).
