1. Current Province of Ontario Construction and Maintenance Electrician or Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification
2. Minimum 5 years experience as a qualified Tradesperson
3. Demonstrated experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of all types of electrical equipment
4. Demonstrated ability to differentiate colours
5. Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
6. Demonstrated ability to use tools and equipment of the trade
7. Must be willing to provide own tools of the trade
8. Demonstrated ability to bend, crawl, lift heavy items, climb and work from ladders and scaffolding
9. Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in areas that are cold, hot, dusty, dirty, noisy, amongst machinery, at elevated levels and have cramped quarters
Under general supervision, the Electrician is responsible for installing, testing, inspecting, maintaining and repairing lighting and power systems. The Electrician (when requested) must also be able to inspect equipment and appliances to ensure they are in accordance with governing Electrical Codes. Performs other duties as may be assigned. Functions according to the job description for Electricians.
May be assigned to work at any HHS site.
