This is a field service position responsible for equipment installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance. Responsibilities include commissioning control systems and integrated rig equipment on drilling rigs domestically and internationally. You will need to work under minimal supervision and train customers on our OEM equipment, which may include Top Drives, Catwalks, Wrenches, Drawworks, or Robotic Operating Systems. Work must be performed in accordance with our quality standards, specifications and meet our customers’ expectations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, troubleshoot and repair our OEM equipment
Assist our customers with electrical issues throughout their rig (non-OEM)
Complete duties both in our shop and in the field
Work locally, domestically, and internationally
Understand ladder logic for troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Omron, GE, Beckhoff etc)
Work with VFD’s for motor control (ABB, Yaskawa, Converteam, etc)
Provide on-call support while on rotation
Make minor mechanical repairs when needed
Install and calibrate rig instrumentation
Troubleshoot generators and SCR’s
Understand engineering documentation (schematics, one-line etc)
Work in remote areas with minimal supervision
Follow our safe work practices and promote a safe work environment
Complete documentation with Microsoft Word and Excel
Operate and maintain a company vehicle in accordance to our policies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Journeyman Red Sealed Electrician or Instrumentation Technician
Experience with motors, VFD’s, and PLC’s
Clean drivers abstract
Passport holder and able to work in the US
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Journeyman certificate of at least 3 years
Instrumentation or Millwright experience
Microsoft Office Certification
Rig experience
