Job Title: Licensed Refrigeration, HVAC and Hospitality Equipment Technician
Reports To: Director of Facilities / Operations Manager
Location: Multiple restaurant locations within the group (Toronto & surrounding areas)
Employment Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with on-call weekends and after-hours availability as required
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, licensed Refrigeration Technician to maintain, service, and repair commercial refrigeration systems across our group of restaurants. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime of walk-in coolers, freezers, display fridges, HVAC systems, ice machines, and other similar equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration and HVAC systems in compliance with industry standards and local building codes.
- Troubleshoot issues with walk-in coolers, freezers, prep fridges, under-counter refrigeration units, and ice machines.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance across all sites.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests, including after-hours as part of an on-call rotation.
- Maintain accurate logs of work performed, refrigerant use, and parts replacement.
- Collaborate with external contractors and vendors when required for larger repairs or installations.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and extend equipment life.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in mechanical and equipment areas.
- Adhere to company safety policies, MOL (Ministry of Labour), and ESA (Employment Standards Act) regulations.
- Provide input and recommendations on capital improvements or equipment upgrades.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic License (313A) – required
- Valid ODP Certification (Ozone Depletion Prevention) – required
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience servicing commercial refrigeration systems, preferably in a restaurant, hospitality, or food production environment
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems an asset
- Comfortable working independently and traveling between multiple restaurant locations
- Ability to lift 25+ kg, work on ladders, and in confined spaces
- Strong communication, documentation, and time management skills
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
- Access to a reliable vehicle and equipment necessary to perform tasks, a benefit

Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary, based on experience - $90,000-$120,000
