SUMMARY
We are looking for a night shift Journeyman Maintenance Electrician to support our evening and early morning operations. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager as well as supporting the Production Supervisor on shift with any maintenance related matters for our 24-hour, 7-day a week manufacturing operations.
SAFETY is priority!!!! Safety Steel Toed Shoes are required (must be CSA approved). Shoe Reimbursement voucher provided upon start date.
SCHEDULE: 2 week rotation, 4 and 3, week 1 is Mon/Tues/Fri/Sat, week 2 is Sun/Wed/Thur. 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM, 84 hours bi-weekly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and equipment.
Diagnose electrical faults on motors, VFDs, control circuits, sensors, and motor starters.
Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, including electrically controlled valves, solenoids, and sensors.
Maintain and troubleshoot vacuum systems, including pumps, controls, sensors, and associated electrical equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot water pumps and water circulation systems.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical and industrial equipment.
Test and troubleshoot three-phase motors, contactors, overloads, and motor control circuits.
Diagnose VFD faults, verify inputs/outputs, and assist with programming or parameter adjustments when required.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, sensors, limit switches, proximity sensors, and control devices.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Use electrical test equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation resistance testers to diagnose problems.
Perform electrical installations, modifications, and repairs as required.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and prioritize repairs to minimize production downtime.
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and document work performed.
Inspect electrical equipment for potential safety hazards, wear, or failure.
Work closely with production and maintenance personnel to identify and resolve equipment issues.
Follow lockout/tagout, electrical safety procedures, and applicable electrical codes and company policies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability, safety, and production efficiency
Ability to work overtime as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Journeyman certification, or Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician Certification is required.
A Valid Class 5 Drivers License
Familiarity with reading electrical schematics, prints and working knowledge of the Electrical Code
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Exposure in an industrial production environment, manufacturing environment, and/or mechanical maintenance work experience is an asset.
All duties are performed with knowledge and application of safety standards, such as, but not limited to proper personal protective equipment (PPE), lifting techniques, forklift and rigging operations, fall protection, lock out/tag out, and arc flash.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn.
Has a working knowledge of OHS regulations, National Electric Codes, and International Building Codes.
Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
ENVIRONMENT
Worksite is an indoor manufacturing facility, with occasional outside work required.
Working is primarily ground level, but working at heights on rare occasions.

Journeyman rate is $47.50 per hour, plus a $2.50 per hour night shift premium. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation.
