Job Description Summary
Sunbelt Rentals – the fastest‑growing rental business in Canada – is seeking an experienced Power & HVAC Road Mechanic to join our team.
This position operates on a 7 on / 7 off shift.
If you are not local to Fort McMurray/Anzac, you will be responsible for your own associated travel and accommodation costs.
About the Role
As a Power & HVAC Technician, you will perform preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and complex repairs on our Power Generation and HVAC fleet, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for our customers. This includes:
- Large‑scale diesel and natural‑gas generators
- Industrial heating and cooling systems
- Dehumidification units
- Air movers, pumps, and associated electrical distribution
Our Power & HVAC division supports critical industries across Canada, and you will play a key role in minimizing downtime and keeping essential operations running.

Education & Experience That Lead to Success
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Trade school or equivalent technical training (preferred)
- Previous experience servicing:
- Large‑scale generators, switchgear, or electrical distribution
- HVAC systems, industrial heating/cooling units, or dehumidification equipment
- Diesel or heavy equipment (strongly preferred)
- A valid Heavy Duty Red Seal is an asset
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to provide your own standard mechanic/technician tools
- Advanced hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Strong understanding of generator controls, load management, and HVAC system diagnostics
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
- Strong customer service and communication skills while working on remote sites

Base Pay Range
