What You’ll Do

Sales Execution & Market Development

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed territory sales objectives across Canplas’ product offerings.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through lead generation and market analysis.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with distributors, leveraging insights into market dynamics and competitive activity.
  • Conduct regular sales calls and site visits to promote Canplas solutions and secure customer sales.

Customer Intimacy & Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture long‑term customer relationships by understanding business drivers, challenges, and goals.
  • Engage in consistent, meaningful communication to provide personalized product recommendations and technical support.
  • Evaluate customer satisfaction post‑delivery and proactively address concerns to strengthen trust and loyalty.
  • Act as a strategic partner, offering insights and solutions aligned with evolving customer needs.

Technical Expertise & Education

  • Serve as a technical resource, guiding customers on product selection, application, and installation across industries.
  • Deliver customized presentations and product demonstrations to educate stakeholders and support informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and end users to ensure optimal product performance and application.

Sales Operations & Administration

  • Prepare and follow up on quotations, orders, and proposals with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market intelligence to support forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Liaise with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Technical Support to ensure seamless execution and communication.

Promotional Activities

  • Represent Canplas at trade shows, industry events, and promotional programs to increase brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Support marketing initiatives by providing field insights and participating in campaign execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of sales experience in a related industry (distribution or contracting preferred).
  • Engineering background is an asset.
  • Experience in a similar industry is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of distribution networks and product applications across various sectors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint); CRM and ERP/SAP experience is an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer intimacy through responsiveness and tailored service.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, customer‑driven environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a results‑oriented mindset.
  • Solid understanding of Canplas product applications and customer segments.
  • Awareness of market dynamics and competitive positioning.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and deepening product/industry knowledge.
  • Capable of handling standard negotiations and closing sales with distributors and contractors.
  • Supports pricing discussions and manages objections professionally.
  • Maintains accurate records and uses CRM tools to track opportunities.
  • Organizes sales activities to support territory growth and account development.
  • Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable and resilient in changing environments.
  • Builds trust with clients through regular engagement and follow‑up.
  • Works effectively with internal teams such as Customer Service and Marketing.
  • Maintains professionalism and ethical judgment in all interactions.
