Role

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

CoolIT Systems, Inc. is seeking a full-time Test Specialist – CDU Mechanical to Oversee and support testing and qualification of our Cooling Distribution Unit systems. In this role, you will develop and execute comprehensive verification and validation strategies, including test plans, procedures, and protocols, ensuring alignment with internal quality standards and customer requirements. You will perform engineering design and product risk assessments, support prototype builds, develop test jigs, and integrate CoolIT products into customer equipment. Additionally, you will analyze test data rigorously, prepare technical reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams.

Reporting to Team Lead CDU (Test and Qualification), This role is ideal for a meticulous and technically skilled individual who thrives in a hands-on Mechanical and Electrical testing environment, is passionate about advancing liquid cooling technology

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own test strategies, validation plans, and qualification roadmaps aligned with internal requirements and customer standards.

  • Define test scope, configurations, acceptance criteria, and risk-based coverage for pumps, heat exchangers, PRVs, electrical, and fluid systems.

  • Translate system requirements into structured test plans, matrices, and execution frameworks; identify test gaps, constraints, and dependencies.

  • Conduct DFMEA-driven design reviews to identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Evaluate materials, tolerances, sealing concepts, and thermal/fluid performance; ensure design-for-test (DFT) and design-for-reliability (DFR) principles are applied.

  • Plan and oversee reliability and stress tests, including HALT, thermal cycling, pressure/flow, vibration, mechanical load, and leak testing under real-world conditions.

  • Support test setup validation, instrumentation strategy, and data acquisition planning.

  • Develop and apply statistical data analysis frameworks (regression, variance, trend, Weibull) for performance and reliability assessment.

  • Perform data validation, cleansing, and normalization; convert results into actionable insights and engineering conclusions.

  • Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA implementation.

  • Create, review Non-Conformance (NC) reports; review Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for validation impact, risks, and test requirements.

  • Prepare and present data-driven technical reports, dashboards, and qualification summaries; communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to leadership and customers.

  • Provide feedback and guidance in Product Requirements Documents (PRD), System Requirements Documents (SRD), and design reviews, ensuring testability, thermal performance, and reliability considerations are incorporated early in design.
