JOB SUMMARY:
In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Welder is responsible for participating in a variety of the tasks and activities required to create high quality and reliable fireplace products. Ideal candidates will possess welding experience and experience working in a manufacturing/assembly environment.
This is a unionized position in which we offer a competitive starting wage of $35.56 per hour for Ticketed Welders.
Ticketed Welders are candidates who present to the Company valid, verifiable proof that they hold one of the following credentials:
- A Skilled Trades Welder Foundations HL – Certificate of Completion (CoC);
- A higher‑level credential within the current Skilled Trades Welder progression;
- Interprovincial Red Seal Welder – Certificate of Qualification (CoQ)
- Welder – Certificate of Apprenticeship (CoA)
- A legacy Industry Training Authority (ITA) Welder Level C (or higher) Certificate of Qualification (CoQ)
Candidates who hold an external welding credential that is recognized by the Company but not sufficient to start as Ticketed, including (but not limited to):
- Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Certification (Class S),
- International welding certifications,
- A Welding Foundations program diploma without a Skilled Trades Certificate of Completion (CoC)
will start as a Welder 1 (pay rate $33.43) and transition to the Ticketed Welder classification after completing 2,080 hours of work with the company.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Performing Assembly and/or Sub-Assembly work in a production environment
- Welding steel of varying material types and thicknesses from 16 ga to 5/16" plate
- Performing finishing work, such as grinding
- Performing spot welding
- Performing general labour
QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIFICATIONS:
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (occasionally)
- Ability to work closely with others in a production flow environment
Education/Training
- Level C Welding Ticket or Equivalent Experience
Experience
- Manufacturing/Assembly experience
- Grinding experience
