Overview:

Greenhouse is seeking a hard-working, reliable, highly skilled Journeyman Electrician with strong electromechanical expertise, preferably in the food industry to join our maintenance team. This full-time position is based at our Mississauga facility and offers the flexibility to work 1st, 2nd shift, and occasional weekends as needed. The ideal candidate is a hands-on self-starter with a strong understanding of industrial machinery, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.



This is a full-time position based out of our Mississauga location within a rapidly growing start-up. This is a cool job, literally—please note that you will be working in refrigerated conditions for juice production. Your role will be critical in maintaining and improving the performance of our production equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.



Key Performance Indicators for the Maintenance team:

  1. Time to critical equipment breakdowns (target is response to critical equipment breakdown is <1 hour, bring equipment back up running <4hours, complete repairs <24 hours)
  2. High priority Repairs Work Orders 100% Completion, overall 95% completion rate, low-medium priority WO backlog <2 weeks.
  3. Target downtime <5 Hours Per Week
  4. 100% Document and Record-Keeping Compliance


Statement of Work & Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery breakdowns (most notably rotary/gable top/can fillers, ROPP cappers, labelers, UHTs, homogenizers, various pumps, depalletizer, high speed doors)
  • Install and maintain electrical systems including EMT, PVC and rigid conduit, cable tray, instrumentation and controls wiring, new service installations, lighting installations, and more
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics or prints
  • Build and wire electrical control panels
  • Ensure machinery operates at peak performance by performing preventive maintenance.
  • Modify, fabricate, and upgrade machinery components as needed.
  • Work with the rest of the maintenance team to track and document maintenance activities.
  • Maintain an organized and clean maintenance area.
  • Maintain accurate inventory management of spare parts
  • Provide recommendations for equipment improvements and efficiency enhancements.
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies and food safety standards (HACCP compliance).
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
  • Be available for occasional weekend/evening work and longer shifts when emergency repairs are needed.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Electrical license 309A or 442A with a history of control systems experience in an industrial process environment
  • Experience in a food and/or beverage manufacturing environment is a strong asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge base in Siemens and Allen Bradley and other industry PLCs
  • Mechanically inclined, excelling at use of tools to accomplish hands-on field work, including machine wiring, mounting of components, panel changes/retrofits, running of cables, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Solid understanding of workplace safety and compliance regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Scissor lift and forklift certification are assets.



Health & Safety:

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Wear proper PPE and comply with safety requirements
  • Ability to work in a cold and refrigerated environment
