Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Experience an asset

Job Duties:

  • Analyze and interpret technical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and job instructions to determine welding needs and ensure the proper execution of projects.
  • Assess material needs, compile detailed inventories, and gather required supplies to meet production criteria.
  • Choose, arrange, and prepare materials for welding while ensuring adherence to job specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare metal surfaces for welding or other processes by cleaning, grinding, and ensuring ideal conditions for bonding and finishing.
  • Setup and operate various welding tools and equipment, including manual and semi-automatic flame cutting tools, as well as welding machines such as FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW.
  • Adjust welding machines for accurate cuts, joints, and repairs, ensuring compliance with quality and safety regulations.
  • Program and operate CNC machinery to support welding processes, guaranteeing precise and efficient metalworking when necessary.
  • Conduct quality checks on welded products and assemblies to verify compliance with dimensional and structural standards.
  • Modify machinery or processes as required to correct deviations from specified tolerances or standards.
  • Perform maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on welding equipment and tools to ensure they are fully operational.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, performing necessary repairs or alerting supervisors to serious malfunctions.
  • Document activities, irregularities, and project details thoroughly to ensure continuity and effective operations.
  • Engage in open communication with colleagues and supervisors to improve workflow and solve issues promptly.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations, including using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safely handling materials.
  • Promote a safe work environment by actively participating in safety programs and reporting hazards or incidents without delay.

Other Terms:

4% vacation pay as per British Columbia regulations will be paid each pay day on a bi-weekly basis.
